Banning, CA: A “Chamber of Commerce” View Following Storm

Posted on Jan 23, 2021 | No Comments

Following a storm a few weeks ago I woke up early to find the mountains flanking the San Gorgonio Pass shrouded in fresh snow. Instead of taking my usual morning walk, I drove up to a turnout on Hwy 243 for an unobstructed view.

This image is four frames from a Nikon full-frame DSLR stitched together using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, resulting in a DNG file of much higher quality than a cropped center section from a single frame.

The result is what I call a “Chamber of Commerce” view, a postcard-perfect image of the community and surrounding area, taking in almost the entire San Gorgonio Pass. I plan to have this printed as a triptych and displayed at the Banning Art Gallery.
