PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (June 26, 2021) Visitors take turns photographing themselves with the “Forever Marilyn” statue recently installed outside the Palm Springs Art Museum. The 26-foot-tall sculpture by Seward Johnson, immortalizing a scene from the 1955 comedy, “The Seven-Year Itch,” sparked controversy as it appears to some the statue is flashing the front of the museum and has been described as insensitive and misogynistic in the wake of the Me Too movement.
